Have you ever had everything perfectly planned out in your head?
You have enough time. You'll stay on schedule. Everything will fall neatly into place.
And then life laughs at your plan.
Suddenly, the time disappears, the list gets longer, and you think:
There is absolutely no way I'm going to get all of this done.
And then somehow... you do.
Not because it became easier.
Not because someone gave you more hours.
Because passion took over.
Last week, I had 80 pieces to complete in just a few days for an event. I looked at what was in front of me and thought, how am I going to pull this off?
Then I started.
One piece. Then another. And somewhere along the way, I stopped thinking about how much was left and found another gear.
That's what passion can do.
It can make you discover a version of yourself you didn't know was there.
A few days later, someone said to me, “You should hire someone to do the labor on your shirts.”
Maybe someday I will.
But when I do, I won't just be looking for someone who knows how to screen.
I'll be looking for someone who cares.
Because every piece has my name behind it. The placement matters. The print matters. The finishing matters. I inspect it, steam it and make sure it's something I'm proud to send out into the world.
The woman who receives that sweatshirt doesn't know whether hers was number one or number 80.
And she shouldn't.
She expects quality from me. And she should.
Maybe your passion isn't a business. Maybe it's your family, your career, something you're creating, or a dream you've quietly been working toward.
Whatever it is, I hope you have something that makes you dig a little deeper than you thought you could.
Because passion doesn't make the work disappear.
It makes the work mean something.
And I've learned something very simple:
If I'm going to put my name on something, I'm going to put my heart into it too.
With all my ❤️,
Mary Ann
