Your Own Kind of Trend

Every fall, the same conversation starts.

What’s in? What’s out? Cropped this. Oversized that. The colors everyone is supposed to be wearing. And this year, hoodies and sweatshirts are having a real moment.

But here’s the thing about trends: you don’t owe them anything.

The Crop Top Thing

I’ll be honest — I love a cropped sweatshirt. On me, I think it’s cute.

But that doesn’t mean everyone has to love one.

After all my years in fashion, and now meeting women face-to-face at Daisy-Bella pop-ups, I’ve learned something far more important than what happens to be trending.

Women know when something feels like them.

At my table, they stop because they see a message. They read it. They smile, laugh, sometimes tear up, or call a friend over and say, “This is me.”

That’s the part I love.

It isn’t really about a hemline or what someone decided was fashionable this season. It’s about putting something on and feeling comfortable, confident and completely yourself.

Maybe you love cropped. Maybe you love oversized. Maybe you want something somewhere in between.

You don’t have to explain it.

We Didn’t Start Daisy-Bella by Following the Rules

Early in my career in fashion, someone I respected told me I might not have tough enough skin for the industry.

She wasn’t wrong that fashion could be tough.

She was wrong about me.

I built a career without giving up the kindness that was part of who I was. And years later, I built Daisy-Bella the same way — not by trying to become what everyone else was doing, but by trusting what felt right.

I think getting dressed should work the same way.

What Actually Commands the Room

It’s not the trend.

It’s the woman wearing it.

It’s the way she stands when she feels good in what she has on. It’s the sweatshirt she reaches for again and again because it feels like her. It’s the message that makes her smile because somehow, on that particular day, those were exactly the words she needed.

Comfort isn’t settling.

Confidence isn’t a silhouette.

And style was never supposed to make you feel like someone else.

Make Yourself the Trend

So this fall, when all those lists start telling us what’s in and what’s out, have some fun with them.

Take what you love.

Leave what you don’t.

Wear the cropped sweatshirt if it makes you feel great. Grab the oversized hoodie if that’s the one that feels like home. Wear the words that mean something to you.

Because around here, we don’t follow every trend.

We make our own.

And maybe the best trend of all is simply feeling like yourself.

On your own terms.
