Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Daisy Bella!

We love keeping our customers comfy throughout their day. Our products are made with love and printed in Connecticut, committed to paying forward to help women in need. Plus, our empowering graphic designs are meant to encourage anyone who wears them!

Three questions with Mary Ann Tooker, founder of Daisy Bella.

Why did you start your business?

After working for many years in the fashion industry, and upon seeing its influence on women—in both positive and negative ways, I wanted to create a brand that would counter all the negatives and help women in need. And so Daisy-Bella was born.

And because my biggest inspirations were the women that surround me throughout life, I wanted to pay tribute to them by creating Daisy-Bella, a brand that reflects their power, beauty, and comfort on their own terms.

Daisy-Bella is my proudest business yet! It reflects me - my mission and as well as many women who have found themselves searching for seamless shopping experiences when looking for comfortable, ethically made garments.

What is your best-selling product/service?

The best-selling product is anything in BE YOU - a tank - tee or hoodie. 2 little words that are so powerful. It is a great reminder that being yourself is that superpower. No one else can be!

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

Being an e-commerce business, I do a mix of supporting businesses throughout the USA and a few local businesses I collaborate with - the biggest is Dance with EL. - many of my customers are into healthy living -- her business is natural.

Also, have work with Fairfield County lifestyles as well as Babes in Business CT.

Mary Ann would like to nominate Dance with El to be featured next!
